Frequently Asked Questions
How is the zombie count calculated?
Zombie count uses your game stage, current day, difficulty multiplier, biome multiplier, and player count (scaled by square root). The formula approximates 7 Days to Die Alpha 21 behavior.
What is game stage?
Game stage is a hidden stat that increases with your player level and total zombie kills. It primarily controls horde difficulty. Roughly: Game Stage ≈ Level + (total kills ÷ 10).
How is survival probability calculated?
It's a composite score from four factors: ammo sufficiency (40 pts), trap coverage (20 pts), base stability (25 pts), and turret bonus (10 pts), with a small penalty for each additional player.
When do demolishers start appearing?
Demolishers have a small chance to appear once your game stage exceeds 100. The chance grows slowly from there, capping around 20% of the horde at very high game stages.
Why does player count affect zombie count?
In multiplayer, 7DTD scales zombie counts by the square root of the player count. Two players get roughly 1.4× zombies, four players get 2× zombies.
